1987, accepterade en ung kock i Texas, Philip Huntzinger, ett erbjudande att resa till Sverige som en ”amerikansk mat”-konsult. När han anlände till Stockholm insåg han att det fanns många amerikanska och brittiska pubar, men inte ett enda steakhouse i Texas-anda. Han bestämde sig för att göra något åt saken och 1994 öppnade Philip Huntzinger sitt första Texas Longhorn Steakhouse med 23 sittplatser på Södermalm i Stockholm. Det var en sann hyllning till hans hemstat, med biff, revbensspjäll och Tex-Mex-rätter från familjerecept. Tjugosex år senare har Texas Longhorn vuxit till en franchisekedja med mer än trettio restauranger och lika många produkter i dagligvaruhandel och introducerat äkta Texas gästfrihet, jalapeños och avslappnad mat till svensk kultur.

1994

Texas Longhorn is born! The first location opens on S:t Paulsgatan in Stockholm

1994-1997

Texas Longhorn opens three additional locations around the Stockholm metro area and perfected their business of grilling steaks…and starts to build a cult-like following

1998

Texas Longhorn decides Stockholm metro-area residents shouldn’t be the only ones to experience its steaks and begins to franchise in Sweden

1999

To keep up with demand and to secure the quality of the food in the restaurants, Texas Longhorn opens its first factory

2011

The ribs are a hit, so Texas Longhorn decides to put them out for retail

2015

Texas Longhorn launches its own beer “Texas State of Mind” at Systembolaget

2016

Texas Longhorn produces a limited Texas style single malt whiskey together with ranger Creek in San Antonio, Texas – the same city Philip Huntzinger was raised in

2019

Texas Longhorn celebrates 25 years of grilling expertise

2020

Texas Longhorn expands to 35 locations across Sweden
